140 Years of Comerio Ercole Between Innovation, Tradition and Sustainability
June 2025 marked a memorable milestone for Comerio Ercole S.p.A., which celebrated 140 years of industrial activity with a special event held on June 6 at the historical headquarters in Busto Arsizio. The celebration brought together employees, international partners, customers, local authorities and institutional guests for a day that honored the company’s legacy while looking to the future.
The event was not only a moment of celebration but also an opportunity to showcase the company’s continued commitment to technological and sustainable innovation. A new high-precision universal machining center was inaugurated, aligning with the principles of Industry 5.0, aimed at improving flexibility and productivity in the manufacturing of large mechanical components.
To further enhance Research and Development, two new experimental machines: a next-generation mixer and a calender with longitudinal stretching, were added to the technical lab, supporting the testing and validation of innovative materials and solutions.
In line with the company’s environmental goals, the photovoltaic system was expanded by an additional 200 kW, increasing energy autonomy and reducing the environmental footprint. This investment is part of a long-term strategy focused on ecological responsibility.
During the event, the company also presented the commemorative book “Ul Balösu – 1885–2025”, a 270-page publication that chronicles 140 years of industrial and family history, enriched with archival photos, stories, and testimonials. The book serves as a tribute to the territory and to all those who have contributed to the company’s growth.
With over 250 employees, 94% of production destined for export, and a strong presence in international markets, Comerio Ercole confirms its standing as a symbol of Italian industrial excellence. The 140th anniversary celebrations reaffirm the company’s core values: tradition, innovation, excellence and sustainability.
Comerio Ercole Between Peace-Building and Public Recognition: A June to Remember
In addition to the celebrations for its 140th anniversary, June 2025 was a significant month for Comerio Ercole S.p.A. on the institutional and social fronts, further strengthening its role as an ethical, innovative company with deep community values.
On June 6th, Comerio Ercole took part in YouTopic Fest 2025, organized by Rondine Cittadella della Pace in Arezzo. On this occasion, the company, previously selected by Forbes as one of the “Enterprises of Peace”, was officially reconfirmed in this role. The recognition is awarded to industrial organizations that actively promote a culture of dialogue, responsible innovation and sustainable development.
The opening event was attended by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, welcomed by thousands of young people and international delegations. His presence underscored the value of the festival and of the companies involved, including Comerio Ercole, which had the honor of meeting the Head of State, a symbolic moment marking the company’s recognized social and cultural role in today’s landscape.
Just a few days later, the company received another important honor from Il Sole 24 Ore and Statistica for its long-standing industrial history and its ability to combine tradition with forward-thinking innovation. The award “Sustainability Leader 2025” presented during the anniversary celebrations, it’s an acknowledgment of our ongoing commitment to ESG values: Environmental protection, Social responsibility and Good governance.
The month concluded with another prestigious recognition: on June 24th, during the patronal festival of San Giovanni, Riccardo Comerio, President of the company, was awarded the Civic Merit Award by the Municipality of Busto Arsizio. The award was given in recognition of his ongoing commitment to business, education, and social engagement, also in his role as president of LIUC Cattaneo University and as an active member of local philanthropic initiatives.
In his speech, Riccardo Comerio dedicated the recognition to the entire company team, emphasizing the value of collective work, dedication and strong local roots.
