At the core of its mechanical innovation is the TRIPLE® 4-roll calendering unit, engineered to guarantee maximum flexibility and productivity. Designed in an “S” configuration, the system enables rubberizing of textile cord, steel cord and rubber sheeting production within the same line. The simultaneous lamination of two rubber sheets ensures high thickness precision, excellent product stability and reduced risk of air entrapment. Advanced adjustment systems such as roll bending, cross-axis and preloading further enhance dimensional control, while optimized line layouts reduce scrap and improve overall process efficiency.
To minimize downtime during production changes, Comerio Ercole developed FASTEEL®, a patented automatic steel cord change threading system. Traditionally, steel cord changeover could require up to 2–4 hours of manual intervention. FASTEEL® allows cord insertion and preparation while the line is running, reducing downtime to approximately 15–20 minutes. This solution significantly increases plant availability, improves safety and maximizes productivity in high-output environments.
In the post-calender section, the SUPERCUT® cutting and winding system ensures precise and reliable transversal cutting for both rubberized steel and textile cords. Combining guillotine technology for steel cord and high-speed rotating blade systems for textile cord, SUPERCUT® guarantees clean cuts, reduced waste and fully automatic threading toward a rotating turret winder.
Complementing its mechanical expertise, Comerio Ercole is advancing digital transformation through CELEMETRY® and MINERV-AI®. CELEMETRY® converts raw production data into ESG-oriented insights, supporting CO₂ footprint calculation, energy monitoring and CSRD compliance.
